The Environmental Research Station

The Environmental Research Station Schneefernerhaus is managed by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment as a Virtual Institut for altitude and climate research.

These ten leading German research institutes are currently members of the virtual institute:

German Federal Environment Agency, German Meteorological Service, German Aerospace Centre, Karlsruhe Institute for Technology, Helmholtz-Zentrum München, Max-Planck Society, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Technische Universität München, University of Augsburg.

The operational company  provides comprehensive service to the research groups particularly by concentrating on an effective on-site management as a contribution for successful scientific work.
