5 year anniversary of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was founded October 1st 2009. But the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research, Atmospheric Environmental Research (IMK-IFU) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen already celebrates it's 60th anniversary.

Therefor KIT President, Prof. Dr. Holger Hanselka visited the Institute in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the laboratories at the summit of Mt. Zugspitze and the Schneefernerhaus. Here the research group Atmospheric Variability and Trends runs a differential water-vapor LIDAR since 2001.
